The essential oil mixture in this recipe is great for linens because it contains oils that are both aphrodisiacs and relaxants. Sensual linen spray, however, is not just for the bedroom, and can be sprayed all over the house for a light and wonderful scent. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 20 drops sandalwood
  • 10 drops rose essential oil
  • 10 drops bergamot essential oil
  • 6 drops ginger essential oil
  • 6 drops lime essential oil
  • 4 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 4 drops ylang ylang essential oil
  • Spray bottle
  • Distilled water
  • Bowl
  • Toothpick
  • Refrigerator
  • Small funnel

Instructions

      Fill your spray bottle 2/3 full of distilled fresh water.

      In a bowl, combine your essential oils. Stick a toothpick into the mixture and smell it. If you like the scent you may proceed, if you would like to adjust it, do that now.

      Using a funnel, add the essential oil mix to the bottle of water. Screw on the cap and shake well.

      Place the bottle in the refrigerator and let it sit for about 24 hours. After letting the mixture cure, you’ll want to test the scent. The scent may change slightly once it has time to sit, so if the fragrance is too light or needs a little more of one flavor or scent, you can add a few more drops now.

      To use, shake the bottle well before spraying a light mist over your sheets, towels and other linens you may want to lightly fragrance. Other good uses for linen spray, fabric couches and drawers.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adjust the scent according to your own tastes. The recipe is a guideline, but mixing oils is not a science and you should adjust the recipe for your own nose.

  • You don’t want your bottle to be completely full, so that you have plenty of room to shake the mixture each time you use it.

  • Use lightly colored essential oils, so you don’t run the risk of dying the fabric you spray.

  • The recipe above is for an 8 ox spray bottle, adjust the measurements according the the size you are using.

  • Be careful of using essential oils that are dark in color. These colors can dye your light colored linens.
