Weddings are obviously a joyous and wonderful time in a couple's life. It can also be nerve-wracking and one of the most stressful things they'll ever have to encounter. One of the many responsibilities when it comes to weddings is sending out the wedding announcements. While seemingly simple and easy to do, there are a few basics that you absolutely must touch on in order to make them memorable and to take some of the heat off the married couple. Read on to learn how to craft a wedding announcement.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Stationery
  • Photos

Step1
Select the desire size and color of the stationary you'll be using. Something light in color is best so that your text can be more easily read.
Step2
Decide on a font style. Italicized fonts are very popular for announcements. Whatever style you decide on, print a practice copy to see what it will actually look like when printed out. Legibility is just as important as how it looks.
Step3
Find a picture of the married or soon-to-be-married couple that still look good when fitted for the announcement. Try different sizing and cropping techniques until you're happy.
Step4
Place this picture as the background picture, with the text overlapping it. Alternatively, the wedding picture can take up one side of the announcement and the text the other side.
Step5
Include the date of the wedding for future reference as well as the date that the married couple met.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always make sure that both bride and groom are happy with the final look of the wedding announcements before sending out.
