Step 1
Shower and bathe using a hypoallergenic soap and soft sponge. These items are the least likely to irritate your skin and flare-up any future body acne. Also, be sure to wash your body in the morning and after any activity that makes you sweat. This will start you on the path toward stopping body acne because it will reduce the amount of oils on your body that cause it.
-
Step 2
Wash your clothing in mild detergent designed for sensitive skin. The residue from harsh detergents can irritate body acne causing it to spread. So, it’s important to use a mild one. This step should be relatively easily since many detergent manufacturers sell more than one type of product based on the need of the consumer. Just look for detergents with the words mild, sensitive skin or organic on their label.
-
Step 3
Avoid touching your body acne with your hands. The hands carry a lot of germs. So, if you use them to pick, push or burst your body acne, it will cause the acne to spread or become infected. Opt to use a clean washrag or cotton ball to touch acne that has come to a head because it’s the most hygienic way to handle it.
-
Step 4
Eat a diet full of vegetables, fruits and lean meats. A healthy diet will cut out a lot of the outside allergens you consume that might cause acne. So focus on eating a healthy diet in order to stop body acne. A good one to try is the pyramid diet.

Step 5
Visit your dermatologist for a recommendation on acne medicine. Especially in severe cases, good hygiene and diet alone won’t stop body acne. As a result, it’s important to get the aid of medication. Most likely, your doctor will prescribe an oral or topical application for your acne. He may also put you through a battery of tests to figure out if any outside agents are causing your body acne. Remember to allow at least 30 days for any medication to absorb into your blood stream and start to work.
