  • Base Oil or lotions

  1. Mosquito Repellent Lotions and Oils

      Select one or a combination of Essential Oils that have mosquito repellent properties.

      Put one cup of base oil or base lotion in a bowl.

      Add recommended amount of drops of selected essential oils to the base oil or base lotion.

      Stir well.

      Put lotion or oil into a bottle and place cap on for a good seal.

      Use as needed.

  • Mosquito Repellent Herbs include : anise, soy bean, geranium, lemon, eucalyptus, catnip, rosemary, elderflower leaf, mugwort, fennel, celery, birch, citronella, clove, fever few, penny royal, tansy, lavender and thyme.

  • Witch Hazel has also been used for repellent properties.

  • Avoid getting any lotion or oil on open wounds or eyes.

  • Make sure to use the proper amount of essential oil for the amount of base. Using more than is recommended can cause irritation to your skin.
