Draw a Baseball Field

A baseball field can be drawn by anyone who understands perspective and vanishing points. In fact, the baseball diamond almost looks like the beginning of a drawing itself. The home plate could serve as a vanishing point and the horizontal line could be created by connecting the first and third base.

Instructions

  1. How to Draw a Baseball Field

    • 1

Draw the home plate, left and right batting boxes. This will serve as your vanishing point for the rest of the baseball field. You can draw the home plate in whatever style you choose.

    • 2

Draw the foul lines. These lines extend from home plate all the way out to the end of the field. From an aerial view, these lines are at 50 and 130 degrees on a protractor--the image is not an aerial view. The foul lines help you determine the size of the rest of the field. If you want, you can connect the foul line to first and third base and connect first and third base to second base.

    • 3

Draw circles to represent the pitcher's mound and home plate.

    • 4

Draw the infield. The infield should curve and connect both of the foul lines on the outside of the bases.

    • 5

Color the grass and infield if you want. You can also add bases or omit them.
