Things You'll Need:
- One piece of fabric measuring 59 inches long by 9 inches wide
- Two circles of fabric with a ten-inch diameter
- Three pounds of Kapok or buckwheat hulls
- Tape measure
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Thread to match your fabric
-
Step 1
Pin the pleats in place on the one piece of long fabric measuring 59 inches long by nine inches wide. Lay out the fabric on a table, and use the tape measure to figure out where the two-inch mark would be from the right hand end of the fabric. Now lightly fold over a half inch of fabric back to the inch and a half mark and pin both the top and bottom. This is pleat number one of your pillow.
-
Step 2
Create pleat number two of your yoga pillow as you did the first pleat and continue until pinning and pleating until the entire strip of fabric is pleated. Once all the pleats are all in place, sew them into place and remove the pins in the pillow.
-
Step 3
Pin the circle of fabric to the top of the pleated piece and then pin the other circle in place at the bottom of the pleated piece. Sew your pillow top, bottom pieces into place on the pleated length, and remove the pins.
-
Step 4
Reach through the openings of the pleats turn your mediation cushion to the right side. Fill with either the Kapok or the buckwheat hulls and sew the opening by hand. Now use your yoga pillow to help be comfortable as you meditate.
