How to Make Chicken Wing Sauce
Making a chicken wing sauce couldn't be easier. It's versatile, tasty and can be made for 30 people just as easily as it can be made for five. The heat is easily adjustable, so it can suit as many taste buds as you have friends. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 6 oz. of butter
- 3/4 cup vinegar-based hot sauce
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. smoked chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Mix all dry ingredients together in a metal mixing bowl. Stir them well to ensure that they are well mixed.

Bring hot sauce and Worcestershire Sauce to a simmer in a small saucepan, over medium heat. Whisk constantly.

When sauce has simmered for three minutes, drop in the dry ingredients, and stir to incorporate. Make sure that you stir quickly to eliminate clumping.

Cut butter into small pieces. Drop into simmering sauce one piece at a time, while whisking constantly. After each piece is incorporated, add the next one. Be careful not to add more than one piece at a time, or you won't get the texture that you want.

Simmer the sauce, over low heat, for five minutes. Place over chicken wings prepared to your taste, and mix to coat well.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure that you coat the wings while the sauce is still hot. This will ensure that you get the coverage that you want.
This sauce isn't for the faint of heart. Adding the mustard powder smoked chili powder will give an extra kick. Of course, if you still like a little extra heat, you can incorporate as much cayenne pepper into the dry mix as you like. Of course, for each tsp. of cayenne that you add, increase the hot sauce and butter to compensate.
