Certain foods have been shown to increase sexual desire in both men and women. An aphrodisiac is anything that increases sexual desire. Many foods are described as aphrodisiacs and may help to increase your sexual desire. Aphrodisiac foods will affect each individual differently so don't be alarmed if you find a specific food does not increase your sexual desire.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Oysters
  • Honey
  • Chocolate
  • Pineapple
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Chili pepper
  • Tomatoes
  • Vanilla

Step1
Eat oysters. These shellfish have long been known as aphrodisiacs. They contain high levels of zinc which is important in the body's production of testosterone--a sexual stimulant for both sexes.
Step2
Add honey to your drinks and dishes. Honey has been shown to improve libido and increase sexual stamina. The word "honeymoon" was born out of the sexually stimulating effects of honey.
Step3
Indulge in chocolate, specifically dark chocolate. Dark chocolate contains phenylalanine which has been shown to increase one's desire for sex. In fact, studies have found that eating chocolate can stimulate the same feelings as being in love.
Step4
Partake of pineapple as often as possible. Pineapple has an invigorating effect on the body, making it more open to sexual experiences. Try brushing your pineapple with honey to get more sexual benefits--it also tastes great.
Step5
Spice things up. Cayenne pepper can heat up your sexual desire as it stimulates the body's membranes. Chili peppers will also spice things up. They get the blood flowing, the heart pumping and can lead to sweating, all of which work together to up your sexual energy.
Step6
Consume tomatoes. They have a historical reputation as sexual stimulants. They used to be referred to as "love apples." Incorporate them into your diet whenever possible.
Step7
Try vanilla flavors in your drinks, dishes and desserts. Vanilla has been shown to relax the body and stimulate the senses, thus increasing sexual energy. Try to have the vanilla scent present in addition to the taste.
