Getting a facial massage is one of the best ways to relax your body and care for your skin. Using your own moisturizing cream or a teaspoon of olive oil can instantly hydrate your skin and relieve dry patches. The massage also helps exercise the skin to make it more supple. Here are the steps on how to give a facial massage.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Relax, control ambiance
  • Position
  • Neck
  • Cream or olive oil
  1. Step 1

Have the person getting a massage lie flat on a bed with his or head head close to the edge. Position yourself near the person's face.

  2. Step 2

Start with the forehead and temples. Using upward motions, start near the eyebrows and work your fingers upward to the hairline. Apply pressure as needed and repeat the pattern five times. Use your middle and ring fingers to press gently on the temples and use circular motions to loosen the tension. Repeat five more times.

  3. Step 3

Use upward, circular motions to caress the cheeks. Do this gently and avoid pulling to much on the skin. Feel the cheekbones and the jawline and make little circles around them. Use upward swipes. For the skin under the eyes, apply gentle swipes with your fingers.

  4. Step 4

The neck is a body part that is sometimes forgotten during a facial massage. Be sure to caress the neck during a facial massage at it improves circulation. Starting from the clavicles, stroke on the neck using upward motions, running your fingers along the expanse of the neck, from the sides to the back. Continue the upward motion from the clavicle to the neck, then to the chin, stopping at the bottom of the lower lip.

  5. Step 5

At the end of the massage, use your fingers to tap gently on the face and neck, mimicking a piano player. The face is a sensitive part of the body that likes to be massaged, and this treat at the end of the massage activates points on the facial skin that makes the person being massaged feel good.
