Instructions

    • 1

Select the photographs you want to use based on the occasion. For a graduation, you may want to use any photographs taken at school or during school events. For a wedding, you may want to use photographs of the couple separately and together. If you don’t have the photographs available on a disc or already in your computer’s hard drive, scan them into your computer.

    • 2

Many photo imaging programs contain stock photographs, and you may find that some of these photographs are perfect for your wrapping paper. For example, for a graduation, you may want to include photographs or graphics of caps and gowns or diplomas.

    • 3

Decide if you want to print the paper on letter or legal sized paper. You will most likely have to tape several sheets of paper together and will need to decide which paper size will make this easier.

    • 4

Open the computer program you will be using to create the wrapping paper. Import the photographs and arrange them to fit the page. Rotate some of the photographs. Make cutouts of others to add interest to the page.

    • 5

Decide if you want to place the photographs in chronological order or in random order. For a graduation, you may want the images on the back of the package to be of the graduate's first years and the photographs on the front of the package to be more recent.

    • 6

Add colorful borders and graphics to make the paper more visually interesting. Experiment with changing some of the photographs in your photo imaging program. Change the color of the photograph or add something silly. Make the wrapping paper so interesting that the recipient will want to look at every photograph to see what you’ve done.

    • 7

Print out the individual papers and tape them together to make one sheet. You may want to glue additional items on the wrapping paper to make it even more interesting. A tiny piece of paper rolled up and tied with a small ribbon to resemble a diploma makes an eye-catching addition to a graduation package. Add bows and ribbons and present to the lucky recipient.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don’t have a computer and printer, you can still make wrapping paper by photocopying photographs. Glue or tape them on to a piece of paper. Use highlighters to add color to the photographs.
