How to Customize Your Own Rubber Stamp

Step1
Come up with a plan for what you want your stamp to say or look like. You can have text or choose a picture that represent you, your name, or perhaps an event. It can be a great decorative addition to an invitation or scrapbook.
Step2
Decide whether or not you want to design and order it online, or visit a craft store and piece one together using already-made rubber letters, numbers and pictures. If you want to be able to recreate your stamp, it is probably better to make it yourself, using craft store goodies. Most craft stores, like A.C. Moore, have entire sections dedicated just to rubber stamps. Otherwise, visit a site like 123Print and create it there.
Step3
Layout the individual rubber pieces (letters, numbers, pictures, symbols) into the design you want. Now you can easily place them into the special holder (which can also be purchased from a craft store) in the pattern you need to.
Step4
Use ink or paint to transfer your stamp design to paper. Many stationary and craft stores offer ink pads in a whole rainbow of colors, including metalics! You can also choose a paint and apply a very thin layer onto your rubber stamp with a brush.
Step5
Have fun with your customized stamp! Personalize your letters, cards, stationary--just about anything!
