How to Use Turntables
Turntables are used for playing music automatically with the help of vinyl records. If you have an old one lying around somewhere take it out and dust it off. The original ones did not sound very good by today’s standards, but they did improve as time went on. Read below for tips on using a turntable.

Setting up a turntable is simple. Take the connection cord from the turntable and hook it to an incoming connector in the amplifier. Then connect the amplifier to the speakers. Plug both the amplifier and the turntable into an electrical socket.

Change the needle on the turntable if it is old or worn out.

Choose a record and wipe it clean of dust. Put the record on the turntable and switch the turntable on.

Place the needle on the record on the outer edge where the blank spot on the vinyl ends.

Do not be alarmed. Yes that was called Music. The tunes and the lyrics said something in those days. Anyway, finally you have gotten music out of this old thing. Just remember to hook it up right the next time you wish to play a record.

Turntables were also used in automatic record changers. You put in the desired number of records and they would play one at a time. You could not change their order and had to finish playing the whole selection or you could still listen to it one record at a time.

Smoke filled rooms which in today’s days would be frowned upon, the record player playing and you two dancing in the moonlight. What a charming sight it made. They made a number of movies around that theme.
