Instructions

  1. Low Fat Biscuits

    • 1

      Mix together all of your dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. That will be 2 cups offlour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon baking soda, and ¼ teaspoon salt.

      Mix your wet ingredients in another bowl. 2/3 cup of 1% fat buttermilk and 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.

      Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and stir with a fork until well blended.

      Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 to 12 times.

      Roll dough to ¾ thickness and cut with a biscuit or cookie cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

      Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
