Things You'll Need:
- Daffodils
- Shovel
- Wheelbarrow
- Water
-
Step 1
To dig up the daffodils, insert a shovel about four inches from the edge of the plants and press down on the shovel with your foot. The shovel should slice at an angle towards the center of the of the dirt. Repeat this step all the way around the daffodils until you have completed a circle.
-
Step 2
Once you have severed the daffodils from the dirt surrounding them, insert the shovel once again. Once inserted, press down on the shovel handle and lift the daffodils out of the ground.
-
Step 3
Place the daffodils and the shovel in a wheelbarrow and move them to where they will be replanted.
-
Step 1
Dig a hole the roughly the same width and depth as the clump of dirt holding the daffodils. Place the dirt from the hole in the wheelbarrow.
-
Step 2
Place the daffodils in the hole. If the tops of the soil and the ground surrounding the hole are even, simply press down firmly on dirt surrounding the daffodils to set them. If there are any gaps between the clump of daffodils and the edge of the hole, fill in with the dirt from the wheelbarrow.
-
Step 3
Take the dirt in the wheelbarrow to the place from which you moved the daffodils. Use that dirt to fill in the holes.
-
Step 4
Water the newly transplanted daffodils well, and do so for several days to reduce the risk of shock to the daffodils.
