  1. Step 1

    Set one gallon of water to boil and move to the next step while you’re waiting.

  2. Step 2

    Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the garbage disposal.

  3. Step 3

    Pour 1 cup of white vinegar down the garbage disposal

  4. Step 4

    Allow the mixture to foam for several minutes before flushing the drain with the boiling water.

  5. Step 5

    Throw in the used lemon and flip on the disposal for a few seconds to freshen the now clear disposal.

Tips & Warnings
  • To eliminate garbage disposal odors and clean and sharpen blades, grind ice and used lemon and/or orange rinds until pulverized.
