It's more common than you think.

Herpes Simplex One or HSV1 is known as herpes of the mouth and it is either contracted by sex or by coming into contact with any other mucus membranes of someone who has this virus. There is no cure for herpes since it is caused by a virus; however, this article will teach you how to treat HSV1.

Identify what may be causing your outbreaks.Outbreaks during HSV1 are almost inevitable. However, you can do things to find out what is causing your outbreaks and minimize them. Some things that may trigger an HSV1 outbreak are: illness, stress, poor diet, having too much sex and excessive sun exposure. If you notice one thing is causing your outbreaks more than others, it is recommended that you eliminate or minimize what you are doing to cause them.

Take antiviral medications. Taking antiviral medications are a good step in leading a better life with any herpes virus and it is a good way to minimize the risk of spreading your virus if you are married. There are many antiviral medications available from many pharmaceutical companies and only your doctor can help you decide which ones are right for you. It is recommended that you discuss treatment options well with your doctor before deciding on one.

Practice a healthy lifestyle. Since not a whole lot can be done to treat HSV1 outbreaks, it is important to practice a healthy lifestyle. Practicing a healthy lifestyle includes: eating healthy, managing your diabetes or other chronic ailment carefully and managing all other areas of your life including your sex life. If you need tips on lifestyle management (some people need to manage lifestyles a little differently than others), it is recommended that you speak with your doctor so that he or she can help you.
