How to winterize your oleander plants.

  • pot
  • cool place
  • gardening gloves
  1. Step 1

    These beautiful and hardy plants can virtually grown in any time zone. These plants will thrive until fall temperatures go down to 40-degrees so they will be beautiful for around five-months.

  2. Step 2

    Then, you can put them in pots that to be brought in for the winter, take cuttings to grow indoors, dig up the root ball and protect them over the cold months or treat them as annuals and replace them next year.

  3. Step 3

    In spring you can replant the root ball, for another wonderful year. If you live in an area that the temperatures do not drop down below 40F, you can cover the plant at night with a sheet, this will increase the temperature approximately 2degrees
    Researchers also showed that if you keep watering the plants throughout winter they thrive.

  4. Step 4

    In spiring fertilize the plant.
