How to Help a New Mom
So you've bought your pregnant friend all the cute little baby things, and now you're wondering what to do for her after the baby is born. A new mom needs practical, time-saving help, not more onesies. New mothers need nurturing too. Here are some really useful ideas for things you can do (or give) to help a new mom out.

Meals. New moms have very little time to cook and prepare meals. Make several meals and freeze them. A gift of frozen meals your mom-friend can pull out, heat and eat is sure to be a big hit.

2
Laundry. Depending upon how well you know this new mom, she may allow you to wash her underwear. If not, however, maybe you can help out with the folding. A new mom appreciates extra hands for just about any task.

3
Cleaning. One of the most appreciated gifts I have given to new moms is a pre-paid cleaning service. Contact a service and purchase a gift card. Then, let your new mom set up the time.

Time with older children. New moms sometimes have older children who feel left out when their new sibling comes along. Plan some fun activities for the older children and take them out for the morning or afternoon. This way your friend will have time with her newborn and feel good about the attention her older children are getting.

Take your friend out. You may have to wait a few weeks, but even the newest of moms can get out for an hour for a simple lunch, walk around town or drive in the country. Sometimes even a short outing can be a blessing for a new mom.

Tips & Warnings
Try to ask your new mom friend how she is doing. New babies are beautiful and captiviating, however, spending some time focusing only on the mother can help her feel less left out and more cared for.
