Instructions

    • 1

Empty and clean out all of your old plastic milk jugs and store until ready for use. Allow to air dry.

    • 2

Fill the empty milk jugs half way or less with water or sand, according to how much weight you can lift. Be sure to experiment with different levels of weight by emptying out or filling the jugs with more water or sand.

    • 3

Test out the milk jugs to make sure the weight is adequate for the exercise you are going to be doing. Weight can vary with the type and number of reps you will perform.

    • 4

Place one jug in each hand and begin walking at a comfortable pace. Lift the jugs slightly with each step as your ability allows.

    • 5

Stand in place with knees slightly bent and feet about two shoulder width's apart. Pick up one jug only, and lift and lower behind your back. Do for about 10 reps. This should work the tricep and back area. When you are finished, repeat this on the other side.

    • 6

Sit on a chair with both milk jugs in your hands. Bend slightly at the waist, and bend your elbows and pull apart from your chest slowly. Breath out when you extend your arms.

    • 7

Empty out the milk jugs and take them into the pool or lake with you. Practice immersing them in the water and drag them in a pulling and pushing motion while you stand in place. You can also attempt to swim with them and stay afloat using only your feet. This can tone your entire body, especially arms and abs.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ask your doctor or health care provider before beginning any exercise regimen.

  • Stop exercising if you feel sharp pain beyond the normal muscle soreness.
