How to Get Rid of Athlete's Foot Itch

You don't need to be an athlete to get athlete's foot. That itching sensation between your toes is going to drive you insane if you don't find a way to get rid of it. There are many over the counter medications that claim to get rid of the itch from athlete's foot. Many of these over the counter medications cause more harm then good while they try to get rid of the athlete's foot itch. There are alternatives to the over the counter medications if you know where to look and what to do. Follow these easy steps to get rid of athlete's foot itch and get on with your day.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 foot basin
  • 1 clean towel
  • 1 clean pair of white cotton socks
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • water
  1. Step 1

    Place your foot basin on the floor in front of a sturdy chair. The chair should allow you to sit comfortably while both of your feet are in the basin.

  2. Step 2

    Pour 1/2 cup vinegar into the foot basin. To get rid of the itch of athlete's foot you can choose to use either white vinegar or cider vinger. Go with whatever you already have on hand in your pantry.

  3. Step 3

    Place 1 tablespoon salt into the vinegar in the foot basin. Fill the remainder of the foot basin with enough water to cover your feet to get rid of the itch of athlete's foot.

  4. Step 4

    Place both of your feet into the soak to get rid of the itch. Let your feet soak for 20 minutes. Relax and remember to keep your feet fully under the water.

  5. Step 5

    Remove your feet from the soak. Thoroughly dry your feet using the clean towel. Pay particular attention to drying between your toes where athlete's foot thrives.

  6. Step 6

    Slip your dry feet into clean white cotton socks. This is the ultimate step to get ridding of the itch of athlete's foot. The soft clean material will not rub or irritate the athlete's foot causing it to itch.

Tips & Warnings
  • Repeat this daily until your athlete's foot is gone.
  • White socks are better than colored because the dye of colored socks may irritate the dry skin of athlete's foot.
  • Do not get athlete's foot again. Wash your feet with anti-bacterial soap every day. Make sure to dry your feet completely after washing them.
  • Wear flip flops in public showers to prevent athlete's foot.
