Step 1
Find out which courses you need to take. Before you can take online courses to become a Texas real estate broker, check with the Texas Real Estate Commission to find out its education requirements. You must satisfy the Texas Real Estate Commission’s core education requirements before you can take the exam.
-
Step 2
While you’re on the Texas Real Estate Commission’s website, look for the list of acceptable core real-estate-education providers. The Commission lists not only classroom instruction by city, but alternative methods of education, such as online and correspondence courses.
-
Step 3
The Texas Real Estate Commission refers to online courses as “alternate delivery methods.” Therefore, check the list for schools with the designation of “ADM.”
-
Step 4
After you’ve selected the online school from the list of acceptable education providers, visit the website to get a better feel for the school. Just because each school offers online real estate courses doesn’t mean that they are all the same. Some schools have been around longer and have ironed out the kinks of online learning. Some real-estate licensing schools charge more than others. Check out a few schools to get a better feel for what they offer.

Step 5
Register and begin taking your online courses. After you’ve narrowed down the choices, it’s time to begin your education to obtain your Texas real estate license.
