  1. Install new building insulation

    • 1

      Install your insulation. Place the insulation between the frame and the sheeting.

      Apply some double-sided tape to the frame of the building. Carefully unroll some of the insulation.

      Lay the insulation on the frame, over the double-sided tape. Allow just enough gap to create some air space.

      Apply the sheeting over the arrangement of insulation. Insert metal strapping to hold the arrangement in place on the walls. Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for your specific insulation materials.

    Install insulation on an existing building

      Mark up the frame of the inside of the building with double-sided tape. Make sure that you place the tape where the insulation will fit.

      Layout insulation over the frame of the building.

      Check the insulation to ensure that some of it sags down. This will allow for air.

      Attach sheeting and tape up the seams. Use metal tape over the seams.

Tips & Warnings

  • For attics, place insulation between the joists and drywall of the ceiling.

  • Wear safety goggles, hard hat, and breathing mask as needed.
