How to Make Kneepads

Household chores can often mean scrubbing, pulling or spraying while you are on your knees. Your knees can take a real beating from all the abuse, so why not protect them? It is pretty absurd to go and pay a lot of money for molded plastic knee pads from the home improvement center, when you can make your own for free, or very little money at all. The following article will show you how to make your own knee pads and save those aching joints. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Cut two pieces of carpet or foam rubber into squares, probably an inch or two less than a square foot.

    • 2

Cut slits in the two parallel sides of the squares with a knife. These holes will be used for anchoring material.

    • 3

Feed a strip of cloth or thin rope through the slits in each square.

    • 4

Place the kneepads on your knees, one at a time, and tie them around the back of your leg using the cloth/string/rope.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have no scrap carpet, go to a carpet store and either ask for some small pieces, or look in their throwaway pile out back

  • Old bath towels cut into strips make good material for tying the kneepads to your legs.
