A unique thank you card that you created means much more to the recipient than a card bought at a store. Be creative and make your own thank you cards from photos, collages, mementos, or old letters.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • printer
  • blank thank you card paper
  • photos
  1. Step 1

Scan photos into your computer and print them onto the thank you card stock to make a unique card. Find photos of you and the person you are thanking and create a card to celebrate your friendship or relationship.

  2. Step 2

Use art programs to create special or funny elements to the photos if you want to create a humorous thank you card. Adding colors, items, or quotations to the photo often results in a very funny card.

  3. Step 3

Scan mementos such as ticket stubs, plane tickets, or photos of travel destinations into your computer to make collages or single photos and print them out onto the thank you card. Make someone smile by reminding her of special events or places.

  4. Step 4

Copy or scan an old letter you received from the recipient of your soon-to-be card and use it to create the background of a thank you card. Either use it as an abstract graphic or focus on specific, significant phrases from the letter. Give someone back a piece of her past that she may have forgotten about.

  5. Step 5

Be creative. Thank you cards should reflect the personality of the person who will receive it. If the recipient has a favorite color pick that color for the paper of the card. If she has a favorite restaurant, make a card out of a gift certificate to that restaurant. If she has a favorite wine, buy a bottle and attach a card saying that the wine should be used to celebrate life.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be creative.
