Many people think that living in or visiting Las Vegas requires you to have to spend large sums of money to find enjoyable family-friendly events to attend. There are a host of ways to find activities for your children that cost absolutely nothing, but are still entertaining and rewarding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
See what's going on at the local libraries. There are many branches throughout the city of Las Vegas that offer special activities and events geared towards kids. Storytelling, reading programs, music concerts and more are offered for the education and entertainment of young people for free.
Step2
Consider going to a community center. There should be at least one that is close to where you live. There are many fun, free activities offered at community centers, such as crafts, family-friendly movies and the like.
Step3
Take your child to the park. There is plenty of space for kids for run and play and picnic areas for cooking out and eating. Not only that, but many parks offer free movies and concerts throughout the year.
Step4
Go on a free tour with your child. Some of them include touring places like Ethel M. Chocolate Factory, Anderson Dairy Farm and Hoover Dam. Be prepared to do a lot of walking.
Step5
Visit some of Las Vegas's most interesting museums, such as the Auto Museum at the Imperial Palace, the Aviation History Museum, the Guitar Museum, the Neon Museum and more. The admission is free.
Step6
Get involved with a place of worship. Many synagogues and churches offer free programs and special activities for children. They will also find a sense of community there and learn strong, positive values.
Step7
If you're a tourist who wants to find interesting things for your child to do, you need look no further than your hotel. Some hotels, such as Circus Circus, Mandalay Bay and others, have special activities, exhibits and shows geared towards kids. The best thing to do before you make a reservation is to find out what free child-friendly things they have taking place within the hotel you are thinking of staying in. You may want to consider booking a room at a hotel in downtown Vegas, as well, since the Fremont Street Experience and other free outdoor shows and presentations take place nearby.
