Sea salt helps rid your face of impurities

Sea salt scrubs are a bit of an abrasive, and are recommended for oily skin. They may be a bit harsh for sensitive skin. The sea salt helps to dry out excess oils that may cause acne. You should look for a scrub that has salt to exfoliate the skin and also helps to dry up excess oils, but also look for one that incorporates moisturising oils to keep the skin from drying out. Instructions

    • 1

Wet your face with lukewarm water. This can be used in the shower or at the sink for morning or night face washing. Scrubs can be a bit abrasive on the skin, so it is recommended to not use them more than 3 or 4 times per week.

    • 2

Apply about a teaspoonful of scrub to your face. You can put small amounts on each cheek, forehead, chin and nose to help spread out the scrub. Make sure you put enough scrub on your face so it will work to exfoliate dead skin cells and to help refresh the skin.

    • 3

Rub the scrub in an upward, circular motion around the face. Be careful not to rub the scrub into your hair or eyes. Use very gentle pressure, since the sea salt has an abrasive texture already; adding too much pressure could cause irritation to the skin on the face.

    • 4

Rinse the scrub from your face. Be sure to keep your eyes closed, as the salt will cause your eyes to burn if it gets in them. Rinse face thoroughly to make sure all salt and face wash is gone from the face before gently patting face dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only use a small amount of scrub for your face. It is recommended to use no more than a teaspoonful of scrub to cleanse your face.

  • Sea salt scrubs can be used on other rough parts of the body, as well as the face. Since sea salt helps get rid of acne, you can use it on any part of your body that is acne-prone.

  • Don't get salt scrub in your eyes.

  • Don't rub face too vigorously with sea salt scrub. Sea Salt is very abrasive and should be used on oily skin, not sensitive skin. You should use a gentle circular motion when cleansing your face with a sea salt scrub.
