How to Upload Your Photo or Avatar to eHow

Tired of looking at your old eHow Avatar? Learn how to change it into your photo or another avatar.

Things You’ll Need:

• Patience
• A picture of yourself

1. You want to first locate the dark blue navigation bar (a navigation bar or menu bar is the horizontal bar at the top of a page or vertical on the left side of a page that leads to important pages on the site). On this bar you will see "My Profile". Select "My Profile".
2. Once you are on the "My Profile" page select "Edit My Profile" this is located on the right of your current image or avatar.
3. When you are on the "Edit My Profile" page you will see "Change My Avatar" next to your current photo or avatar, select "Change My Avatar".
4. The "Change My Avatar" page will be displayed and will have your current photo or avatar on the left side of the screen and different avatars to choose from on the right. If you want to choose an avatar you would select one of those images on the right but if you want to choose your picture you select "Upload An Avatar" under your current picture or avatar.
5. Once you are on the "Upload An Avatar" page you will see "Choose An Image To Upload" on the right. Under this is an empty box with "Browse" next to it. Select "Browse".
6. When you select "Browse" a box will open up allowing to search your computer for the image you want to use. Find the image and double click on it. Double clicking will automatically populate the "file name" box and will automatically select the "open button" and the box will disappear. The "Choose An Image To Upload" box is now pre populated with the address of the picture' s location on your computer. If you are having hard time locating the picture you want to use try saving the picture to your desktop then choose your desktop as the file you want to look in when the choose a file box pops up.
7. When the "Choose An Image To Upload" box is pre populated with the image location select "Upload" right underneath. Doing this will bring up a page with a tool to crop your photo. Crop your photo then select "Make This My Avatar" and you are finished!
