How to Write Profitable Blog Posts

Many people are blogging in an attempt to make money online. Writing blog posts that lead to sales, or even to people sticking around long enough to click on an ad is it's own skillset.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

A Blog
Affiliate Programs appropriate to your blog's niche
Knowledge of that niche

Step 1

Decide which product that you are an Affiliate for, or which product of your own that you want to promote with your blog post.
Step 2

Identify the problem that this product solves for your potential blog readers, and think about your own experience with this problem.
Step 3

Write your post telling "your own story" about overcoming this problem. Perhaps even outline a free method that is labor intensive and thus not as desirable as that provided by the product that will be offered later.
Step 4

After your post use a text link promoting the product. Do not use a banner, or other graphic. Text links will get more clicks. If the affiliate area of the product you have chosen offers text links, change the wording to make sure that it addresses how it makes solving that problem easier. i.e. "Automate Your Social Bookmarking"

Get in the habit of signing off of your posts in a consistent manner. Whether this is with a signature or with a similar type of statement. This way your ads are separated from your post and will look less "spammy".
This can also work well if your post addresses a different problem than that addressed by the product, as long as the same readers would face both challenges.
