How to Patina Stained Glass
Patinas are used to darken or color the lines made from soldering when making stained glass. Common patinas are black and copper. This brings the focus back on your glass pieces and makes the design stand out more. Patinas are used to touch up your stained glass from any unwanted marks and solder.

1
Remove all the flux residue from the stained glass using either a commercial flux remover or a more household-friendly method, by washing the stained glass with a baking soda and dish soap combination. Rinse with clean water.
-
2
Take either a rag or a cotton ball to dab a small amount of patina onto the zinc frame of the glass piece. Dab lightly, do not use a brushing method.
-
3
Dab some patina onto the solder lines. Make sure to dab all edges and sides of the solder lines, so the patina method works successfully.
