Sometimes you find a stray pill ,maybe in drawer , under a bed or god forbid in your child's mouth. whatever your reason your curiosity takes hold and you must know. what is this pill ?

Computer with internet access
Telephone
A pen and paper

Step 1

First step take a note of the color, shape, numbers and letters. also note whether or not is it scored (meaning a line through the pill where it could be broke in half usually indented into the pill). Getting the right description is very IMPORTANT , to get adequate information.
Step 2

Now that you have made a note of the appearance of the pill . Go on line to www.Pharmers.org Or www.Drugs.com . There are many other website to choose from but these two have some of the best information as well as public forum, Also they are both free. Drugs.com also has A medication interaction checker. Each of these two websites have loads of information.
Step 3

If you fail to find what you are looking for online, then you can call a local pharmacy they should be able to tell you what your pill is, but most likly will not give the details you desire .

be sure you get the description of the pill write alot of medications have similar apperences sometimes the only differnce between two drugs is the color yet they are completely different medications.
