How to Get Rid of Mildew

Mildew is an overgrowth of mold and fungus in areas with high moisture levels and temperatures. We usually find mildew in bathrooms, basements, steam rooms, etc. It may have a bad smell and most importantly, it is a health hazard.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Lower humidity levels. This will make it harder for mildew to grow. You can do things like install ventilation fans, set up a dehumidifier or air conditioner, or just open a window to create air flow through a room.

  2. Step 2

    Manage temperatures. By doing this, you will discourage mold and mildew growth. If you Lower temperatures in areas prone to mold and mildew growth, it will make it easier to get rid of mildew and prevent more growth.

  3. Step 3

    Keep everything as a dry as possible. Mildew thrives on moisture.

  4. Step 4

    Clean regularly. Scrub shower walls and bath tubs on a regular basis. And keep your place smelling like roses :)
