Things You'll Need:
- Homeowner's new address
- Number of bathrooms in the new home
- Color scheme of the new home
-
Step 1
Find out how many bathrooms the new home has. Then purchase organic soap in a pump dispenser, one for each bathroom. Also purchase one for the kitchen. Try to coordinate the soap fragrances such as all lemon or tropical. Avalon Organics makes an excellent delcious smelling soap that comes in a decorative plastic bottle that looks like green glass. Put the soap dispensers in a basket with some tissue paper or a few plain guest hand towels.
-
Step 2
Picture hanging kit. Purchase a picture hanging kit that includes multiple sizes of hangers to hang different sizes and weights of pictures. If the new house has plaster walls, nails cannot be used so instead purchase a picture hanging kit for plaster walls.
-
Step 3
Find out the street address (house number) for the new house. Purchase house numbers for the house if you think you know the style of the home and the owner's preferance. Alternatively, purchase plain white ceramic tiles in the 4 inch size and handpaint the house numbers on them. Use outdoor paint made for glass and ceramic available at any craft store. You could also paint the homeowner's name (one letter for each tile). If the homeowner does not choose to mount these directly on the house, they could be placed on the mantle or on a wall inside the house, or in the garden area.
-
Step 4
Window washing kit including a bottle of glass cleaner, lint-free cloths, squeegie.
-
Step 5
Light bulb kit including new "green" compact flourescent lightbulbs.
-
Step 6
Stationary or note pad with the new address on it. Address labels with the new address.

on 8/18/2008 A friend of mine sent me a website that has great ideas for housewarming presents.
www.thesimplestencil.com or www.simplestencil.com (I am not sure which).
They sell decorative transfers for your walls that actually look painted on but aren't. I plan on ordering some for my mother who moves into her new retirement home next month (these are perfect because they can be removed and don't damage the walls). I think she will love a beautiful quote from me but deciding which to give is the hardest part.
I used a promo code my friend gave me to save 10% off, it may work for you too. Promo code SS2
I think they would make a great housewarming gift for any friend or family member.
