Step1
1. Open your mind - this is done by ignoring what you have heard about Goths, most of it won't be true. Because of the Media, Goths have a bad name. Not all of us are Satanists, baby-killers and Vampires or Witches.
2. Get into the mind set of a Goth - as Goths are Human too, this would be like your own mind set.
3. Find the beauty in things, celebrate life to it's fullest and enjoy being with people, they can help you the most in times of peril.
Step2
4. Make sure that you have no make-up on already.
5. Taking your face make-up, it ideally should be pale, but I know of plenty of Goths who revel in the fact that they are African decent or Chinese etc. They simply go for a couple of shades lighter than your own natural tone, you should look luminous not like a clown.
6. Blend below your chin, again, glowing, not menicing clown.
7. Take a soft, fluffy brush and sweep a shimmering powder over your T-zone and cheekbones, this will add definition.
8. Blend. You will notice, there will be a lot of blending.
Step3
9. Take a thin angled brush and swirl it around in your eyeshadow. I use black, but you can use any colour really. Avoid brights though, because against your face make-up, this can look very nu-rave.
10. Knock off the excess eyeshadow by tapping the brush back onto the eyeshadow pot.
11. Keep the eyeshadow near to your lashline, we're not going for raccoon here. More elegant and smokey.
12. By now you should have a black line on your upper lid.
13. Blend the edges into your lid - smokey looking.
Step4
14. On your outer corner, take your eyeliner pencil and darken near your lashes, you can take this line as far as you want.
15. Blend, this is getting ridiculous now. Blend blend blend.
16. Smokey? Or a mess? If it's messy take a cotton bud or a 'Q-tip' and remove what looks messy to you.
Step5
17. On your bottem lid, below your lash line take up your eyeliner pencil again.
18. Be gentle as you go from outer corner towards the inner corner.
19. You should have a line now, so?
20. Blend. It should look soft, kind of ashy coloured and blends in with your top lid.
21. Mascara, and plenty of it.
Step6
22. Take another angled brush, a small one, and use it to prime your lips. You can do this with a finger tip too.
23. Apply a waxy balm over your lips and wait 10 minutes until your lips are very soft.
24. Using a 'Q-tip' or cotton bud rub the balm off, this should remove any dead flakes, don't be afraid to be vicious.
Step7
25. Once your lips have recovered. i.e. returned to their natural colour apply your foundation colour to your lips. They should now be face coloured.
26. Take your angled brush from earlier and 'paint' your lipstick. I use a brush, it's easier to control than the actual lipstick itself.
27. Inside of your natural lipline start to draw on your new lipline. Mine ends up very cupid's bow, despire my lips are actaully very full.
28. You should have a new lipline, now fill it in with your chosen colour.
29. It doesn't have to be black. Reds, burgandys, plums and rich browns look amazing on all skin tones. I use a rich burgandy outer lip line and fades into a vibrant red inner. It looks like I've just drank blood.
Step8
30. You should by now look beautiful, but remember, as with all make-up styles, you need to practise hard!!!
31. Your hair should be clean and glossy, any hair colour and style goes with your make-up.
32. Good luck, you can see what it's like to either be a Goth, or just to update your routine.
33. Clothes are easy for the Darkly Inclined, wear clothes that make you comfy. Wear elegant peices of jewallary if you are wearing block colours to add interest, and make yourself feel like a million pounds/dollars/yen etc
34. It's up to you from now on.
