Things You'll Need:
- Replacement air filter
-
Step 1
Remove the cover of your lawn mowers air filter
-
Step 2
Find any markings on it to identify brand, model, etc.
If yuo are unsure of which kind to use, consult your owners manual or the manufacturers website for more details on what to use. Your local Home Depot or Lowes are also good resources if unsure. -
Step 3
Once you have the replacement, you may take out the old air filter and replace it with the new one
-
Step 4
A new high efficiency air filter helps your lawn mower's engine perform at its peak. Be sure to saturate new foam filters with fresh engine oil, wrap in a clean cloth, and squeeze to remove the excess oil before installing. If you have a Cartridge air filter (as in our pictures), skip this step.
-
Step 5
Replace your spark plug wire and you are done.

on 8/12/2008 Make sure you don't knock dirt into the carb opening when changing the filter. Also, change or clean the filter more often if it is dry conditions outside.A dirty filter can cause the spark plug to foul out.
