For the cleanest feeling floor you can get, mop with your Rainbow vacuum cleaner.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rainbow vacuum cleaner
  • water
  • your favorite cleaning product
  1. Step 1

First, fill your reservoir to the correct level and vacuum as usual with your Rainbow.

  2. Step 2

Next, empty the contents of the reservoir and don't refill it. For mopping you start with no water in the tank.

  3. Step 3

Mix up a solution of water and whatever soap you like. I like to use liquid Lysol in the brown bottle, but anything you like will work. Don't mix it too strong, you don't want to many suds.

  4. Step 4

Connect your Rainbow to the hose that does NOT have the electrical plugs for the beater brush. Use the long sweeper attachment and the non electric hose.

  5. Step 5

Pour some of the cleaning mixture onto lenolium or tile floor. With the Rainbow turned off, scrub it around with your sweeper attachment. When you are ready, turn the vacuum on and vacuum up the water. Repeat the process working in small areas until you are finished mopping. If there is a lot of suds you may have to empty the reservoir sooner, and don't let it get to full before you empty it. Your floor will feel great!

Tips & Warnings
  • I like to put my cleaning solution in an empty dishwashing detergent bottle and squirt it out of there.
  • Never use the electric vacuum hose for vacuuming water.
  • Don't over fill the reservoir.
  • Never store your Rainbow with water in it.

on 7/26/2008 Great "How To". May I suggest you get the squeegee Rainbow attachment. It is the same size and shape as the hard floors Rainbow attachment, but it has a stiffer brush on one side and a squeegee on the other side to squeegee up the water. Excellent!!!
