Discolored guacamole... Sure it doesn't change the flavor too much, but it definitely can discourage the pallet from wanting to eat it. The problem is oxidization on the surface, and with this method it will slow down the process by which it starts to look nasty.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Prepared guacamole
  • Storage container
  • Wax paper or plastic wrap
  1. Step 1

When it is time to store the guacamole, transfer it into a container.

  2. Step 2

Before covering the container with its normal cover, or with plastic wrap, place a layer of plastic wrap or wax paper on the actual guacamole so that it is touching, and does not allow it to interact with the air around it.

  3. Step 3

Cover the container as normal, and store in the refrigerator. The life of the guacamole has been extended by at least one day, but probably more like two days.
