Read on for simple changes you can make that will not only improve your overall health but also help you to lose weight.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A little self control and the willpower to say no to your favorite treats/condiments/beverages. It may not sound like fun, true, but it will pay off!
  1. Step 1

Replace condiments high in calories and fat, such as mayonaise, with low fat, low calorie altnernatives. Try mustard, low fat mayo, low fat dressing.

  2. Step 2

Replace your high fat salad dressing with low fat dressings. Try ordering your salad with oil and vinegar on the side. Use added flavorings sparingly.

  3. Step 3

Avoid soda. Try the diet alternative. Try not to drink your calories. Even fruit juices are high in sugar and calories and are not going to fill you up.

  4. Step 4

Use skim milk instead of regular milk in your latte's. Most coffee stands use regular milk if you do not specify when you order so be sure to state that you want non fat milk instead.

  5. Step 5

Try vegetarian alternatives to meat products. Boca Burgers and Gardenburgers can carry as much as half the calories and fat but still have loads of protein in a tasty alternative to the greasy burger.

  6. Step 6

Eating out? Ask if there is a low fat menu. Most establishments today cater to the health-consciuos and many places even supply nutrition facts.
