How to Remember English Words

It is practically and mentally impossible for an average person/student to remember more than 20,000 English Words. However, there is a way to increase the said number. The best way, to remember more words, is to form a tree of words using a particular word. Take a word say ‘Love’ and form a tree of new words by using ‘Love’ in them.

Some of the words formed by word ‘Love’ are - Love affair, Love letter, Love nest, Love song, Love story, Loved, Loving, Loveless, Loveliness, Lovelorn, Lovely, Lovemaking, Lover, Lovesick…. (There are about 45 words formed by word ‘Love’.) So, you remember 45 words using one word.

But, how to find all these words instantly? I am suggesting two Free Software Applications to accomplish it.

Things You'll Need:

• Computer
• Notebook & Pencil

1. Connect to Internet.

2. Download (i) Mobysaurus Thesaurus and (ii) WordChase, Software Applications from www.download.com/ or www.google.com/ or any other Software Website.

   Open ‘Mobysaurus Thesaurus’ by clicking its Shortcut. Type a word in the search box. As soon as you type the word, a list of words will appear in the right panel. Write these words in a notebook. (If you want to know the synonyms of the typed word, click ‘Find Synonyms’ Button)

4. 
    
   WChase

   Open ‘WordChase’ by clicking its Shortcut. Type a word in the search box, select ‘Begin/Prefix with’ from Search Options and click Search Button. A List of words will appear in the left panel. Write these words below the previous words.
   Click ‘Clear all’ Button. Click ‘End/Suffix with’ from Search Options and click ‘Search Button. A new list of words will appear in the left panel. Write these words below the previous words.

5. Cancel similar words. You get a final list of words containing the typed word. You will find that it is easy to remember these words.

6. Both of these Software Applications are very helpful and useful to those who want to increase their Vocabulary. Use them frequently.
