Cheese dip is popular at parties where the alcohol is flowing free and the fun never stops. It is also popular at various sports parties. There are as many types of cheese dip as there are cooks. This is my take on how to make a really good herbed cheese dip.
Making a really good herbed cheese dip at home is a simple and easy task. It will be very easy for you to create your own family tradition from the basic example listed below.
Step2
Ingredients:
8 ounce package of cream cheese. Try and get a no name or store brand of cream cheese as they are the same quality as any brand name will be. Never pay for a name when you can be paying for more food when making a really good herbed cheese dip.
1 cup of mayonnaise. Again I always use a store brand or no name brand to save money when making a really good herbed cheese dip.
2 / 3 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. You can use a smoked cheddar for extra flavor.
2 /3 cup of finely crumbled bleu cheese
1 cup of sour cream.
1 /2 medium clove of fresh garlic.
4 ounces of minced onion.
1 tablespoon of basil, thyme, oregano, and white pepper.
Step3
Directions:
Toss your cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream in a blender and blend mix for about five seconds for your really good herbed cheese dip. Then add your cheddar and bleu cheeses, finely chopped fresh garlic, onion, spices and mix thoroughly. Scoop out of the mixer and place in the bowl you intend to serve your really good herbed cheese dip. Chill for at least eight hours or preferably overnight.
Really good herbed cheese dip is best served with crackers, thick chips or veggie strips while chilled. You may want to sit your serving bowl on a bed of ice chips to keep it cool during your event. It makes a excellent party dip or luncheon appetizer. Try a scoop of really good herbed cheese dip on your next baked potato for an amazing taste treat.
