Stick Star - Pentagram

Making stars out of sticks and twigs is a quick project that many people do to decorate their home for holidays or fun. The stars can be any size and they can be made from sticks, toothpicks (tree decorations), and even plastic straws (children's crafts).

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

5 sticks of equal length and thickness
string, yarn, or twine
scissors
glue and glue gun

Step 1

What's Needed

Gather 5 sticks, preferably from the same kind of trees, and cut them to equal lengths.
Step 2

V Sticks

Take 2 sticks, shape into a V, and tie one end, wrapping the string or yarn around both sticks tightly. Repeat with the other two sticks. When done, you will have 2 sets of Vs and 1 single stick.
Step 3

Fitted V Sticks

Fit V sticks together so that the tied ends form the bottom 2 points and 2 untied sticks form the top point, as shown.
Step 4

Tie Top Point

Tie the top point of the star.
Step 5

Fit 5th stick to make the final 2 points of the star.
Step 6

Finished Star

Tie final points together. Give the star its final shaping and use glue gun to glue points of star to keep sturdy.
