1
Detangle The Hair Before Making a Hair Braid
Detangle the hair with a wide toothed comb. Braids last longer when the hair is slightly damp. Dry hair can be slippery and hair that is too wet can become too tight as it dries. You can use a spray bottle or towel dry clean hair. To help hair stay, spread a little mousse or hair gel from the roots through the ends so your braid hair style stays put.

Learning How to Braid can be Frustrating
Part the hair from ear to ear over the top of the head. This will divide the front hair from the back hair and keep your braid centered. This hair braid can be braided inside out (Dutch style) or French style, depending on the look you want.

Getting a Hair Braid Can be Relaxing
Begin the hair braid at the top of the head, and as you pull each section, make sure that it enters the braid on the outside . This will take some practice, since a traditional French braid has new sections of hair entering from both sides. It's like learning how to braid all over again. This braid hair style is worth it, though. Keep practicing.

Kids Need to Sit Still For a Braid Hair Style
Braid in the back section of hair just as you did the top, pulling new sections of hair into the outside layer of the braid. Pay attention to your tension and take sections large enough to keep the braid laying flat. You can fix small mistakes with a crochet hook, bobby pin or hair pin.

The Halo Braid is Almost Complete
Work all the way around the head and back to the front section and continue to braid hair all the way to the ends.

How to Braid a Halo
Tuck the tail into the underside of the halo and secure it by weaving with a crochet hook or securing it with bobby pins. You can also weave a string of beads or flowers in at this point, too.

Haha! Little Girls have so much drama! I thought it was beautiful. I tend to secure mine with Bobbie pins, and then a volumizing spray, just because it's less sticky than hairspray and it keeps my strays neat. To get this out... I take out the bobby pins, spray it with either leave in conditioner or Beyond The Zone Protein Cocktail found at Sally's Beauty Supply. It tends to be less damaging to my super frail fine hair. Loved it! Much better than I can do! -

Thank you, after the braid she completely freaked out saying I ruined her hair forever, it was ridiculous. Good luck, it's my favorite braid. -
