Step 1
Write down some key benefits of your medical business. What makes you different than the rest? Are you open late? Do you have a specialty? Brainstorm some graphics associated with these qualities and sketch them on your list.
-
Step 2
Research what others in your field are doing. Many American companies use the Caduceus Staff, which looks like a rod wrapped with two snakes and a pair of wings on top. Look at as many business cards and websites to find what others are doing.
-
Step 3
Gather your tools. You will need a high-quality graphic design program such as Adobe Illustrator to design your logo. If you do not have it, you can easily gain access at your local Kinko's. Some local libraries and college computer labs may also be able to help you as well. If you don't know how to use the program, there are plenty of books, magazines and websites to help you learn the ropes.

Step 4
Choose your vendors. If you are getting printed materials such as business cards and letterhead, find a good printer with reasonable prices. Meet with them in person if possible and get printed samples. Choose your colors and ask them how to prepare your files. Many will email you a template you can use.

Step 5
Create your logo. Be sure to convert all text to outlines and save in eps format when finished.
