Things You'll Need:
- Basket
- Gifts
- Ribbon
- Gift cards
- Clear or colored cellophane
- Tissue paper or piece of Styrofoam
-
Step 1
Shop for your supplies and your gifts. It helps to know the person and the occasion for which the gift is being given. That way you are sure to include theme items that the recipient would like and can use. For instance, a baby shower gift basket would contain supplies for a baby such as lotion, baby shampoo, diapers, rattles and nail clippers to name a few. Take time to think about what you want to include and bring a list with you.

Step 2
Place some tissue paper crumpled, in the bottom of the basket to put the gifts on. You can also use a piece of Styrofoam instead. This is to raise the height of the gifts if you have a deep basket, so that they can be seen from outside the package.
-
Step 3
Begin placing the gifts inside the basket, starting with the larger items first. You will then use the smaller items as fill ins. If you are using Styrofoam in the bottom of the basket, you can secure the gifts with tape, so they will not move out of place. If you choose to use the crumpled tissue in the bottom, you can also use it between the gifts as padding.

Step 4
Once your gifts are in place, it's time to put the cellophane around the whole basket. The cellophane comes in large rolls so you will unroll a piece of about three times the height of the basket including the handle. Do this twice so that you can cover the entire basket. Place the sheets down on a flat surface perpendicular to each other so that the middles of each are one over the other. Place the basket on top of that spot and gather the cellophane up and over the handle. Squeeze and secure with ribbon and tie into a nice bow. Add the gift card and your gift basket is complete.
