How to Get Your Toddler to Listen

Trying to communicate with your toddler can be extremely difficult. Remember, that a 2-year old can become just as frustrated as an adult when his or her message is not heard. Be patient when you want a little one to listen and remember that your body language can assist in helping a toddler to receive your message.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Say the child's name before anything else.

  2. Step 2

    Get eye contact to confirm that you have the child's attention.

  3. Step 3

    Change the pitch in your voice before communicating what you are trying to get across.

  4. Step 4

    Have the child confrm your message to assure communication was recieved.
