The Apple iPhone has taken the technological world by storm. Debuting with a degree of hype usually reserved for video game consoles and blockbuster movies, it begs the question of what kind of entertainment can be found on this handy device. Of course, it is ready to surf the Internet and has all the usual features of a high end cell phone, but what about games? Well, there is no shortage of games to be played on your iPhone. Step1

Look for inexpensive games. The Internet is rife with game manufacturers, many of which have come up with great iPhone games that cost very little to download and install. These games can range from the simplistic to the advanced, but you're likely to at least find a few that are worthy of your personal tastes. Make sure you find a site you can trust with your payment information. Some of these sites are just an excuse to put spam and other derelict software on your phone. That's something you don't need.

Step2

Play Nintendo Games. This is a little off the beaten path, but if you've got the willingness and the ingenuity, you can now play original Nintendo games on your iPhone with something called emulation. Emulation has been around a while for PCs, but it has now reached the point where it can be played even on your cell phone. You simply download the free emulator and you're in business. You can download any game rom you like and suddenly you're playing Super Mario Bros. or The Legend of Zelda while you're on the subway or in a grocery store line that doesn't seem to ever move.

Find free games. While searching for the games you can pay for, you'll likely come across many free games you can download for the iPhone. These games may not be quite as sophisticated, but they will certainly do as a diversion if you don't plan on making your iPhone your new home gaming console. It will probably be a stretch to say these games will be taking away from the XBox market share, but who couldn't go for a quick game of solitaire when there's little else to do?

Wait for some real revolutions. We live in exciting times when it comes to technology, and this is especially true for those who love video games. Right now gaming companies such as EA are working on ways in which your cell phone can play games that are as advanced and even more advanced than games available on the PSP and the Nintendo DS. They are also working on games that can use the cell phone itself in conjunction with plug and play games, much in the same way the Wii controller works. Wave the cell phone and watch something happen on the screen. Good times ahead, for those who have a little patience. In the meantime, how about some old school Mike Tyson's Punchout.
