Custom jeans can be especially useful if you don’t fit standard sizes, or if you fall between sizes. For example, if your hips are a different size than your waist, custom jeans can match both measurements so that the waist won’t be too loose. There are a number of websites that offer custom jeans. Before you choose a website or place an order, find out the cost of the jeans, shipping and sales tax. Also check the returns or corrections policy in case your jeans aren’t made correctly. If you measure accurately, your custom jeans should be a perfect fit. Read on to learn how to order custom jeans.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Soft measuring tape
  1. Step 1

Choose a custom jean design website, such as Me Jeans. Some jean websites give you more style and size choices than others.

  2. Step 2

Select a style of fit for the jeans, such as slim, relaxed or classic. Some sites also offer additional styles such as carpenter style, cargo or capri jeans.

  3. Step 3

Choose a style of leg opening for the jeans, such as straight, boot cut, tapered or flare.

  4. Step 4

Pick a color of denim for the jeans. Most custom jeans websites offer a variety of shades of blue, and washes that range from brand new looking to heavily faded. Some websites also offer other colors besides blue jeans.

  5. Step 5

Decide whether you want the low-rise or at waist jeans. Some websites also let you customize the waistband width and the number of belt loops, and how much below the waist the low-waist jeans will be.

  6. Step 6

Choose whether you want the front of the jeans to zip, button or lace up. Some websites even let you choose the color of the zipper.

  7. Step 7

Select a color for the stitching, if available. You may want to choose the standard brown stitching or your favorite color.

  8. Step 8

Choose the number of pockets you want on the front and back of the jeans. You may also have a choice about the shape of the pockets, and whether you want a small coin pocket inside one front pocket of the jeans.

  9. Step 9

Choose the color of the buttons and rivets, and any optional features you want, such as frayed edges, cuffs on the bottom of the jeans, slits on the sides of the ankles, or stain protection. Be sure to find out if optional features cost extra.

  10. Step 10

Measure yourself, following the guidelines on the custom jeans website. Take your measurements wearing only your undergarments, not a current pair of jeans. Make sure to measure as accurately as possible. The measuring tape should be snug, but comfortable around the fullest parts of your waist and hips.

  11. Step 11

Review the jeans style and measurement choices and complete the order process.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since most custom jeans are not returnable, be sure to double-check your measurements before ordering.
