How to Import a Photo from a Scanner in Paint Shop Pro Photo XI
The technology behind graphical design software has finally reached the point where users are able to hook up high resolution scanners to their computers and actually import the images into the program. This comes in useful for a variety of photo editing options, from scrap book design to website design; many users rely upon scanners to provide high resolution images that they can import into their graphic design software.

Open the application. You will need to left-click on the Paint Shop Pro Photo XI icon to open the application.

Make sure that you scanner is connected to your computer. Double-check to assure that your scanner is turned on and is wired to your computer. Then make sure to set the image that you wish scanned, face down on the scanner.

Import the picture to your computer. Left-click on the “File” tab on the command bar; a submenu will open. Scroll to “Import” and left-click; a submenu will open. Scroll to “From Scanner or Camera” and left-click; an image import box will open. Select the desired image import settings and click on the “Scan” button.

Save the picture and edit. Once the image has scanned it will appear on the work palette. Simply click the “File” tab on the command bar and scroll to “Save As” to save the scanned image.

Tips & Warnings
Scan the picture at the highest possible resolution, this way you get a high quality picture to work with.
Make sure that you save an extra copy of the image before you work on it, so you do not have to rescan it again if you make a mistake.
