How to find toys that are made in America

By now, every parent in the United States is definitely aware of the recalls on toys that were manufactured in China. No one wants their children to be inadvertently exposed to lead or other toxins, right? So, like most parents, you might be wondering, "How do I find toys that are made in America?". As a mother of an 8 year old boy, I was, too! Here's how I found out.

1. Get an idea of exactly what toys you might want.

2. Search http://www.madeinusa.org/nav.cgi?data/toys for a description and link to sites that sell these items. Also check here: http://www.buyamericanmart.com/

3. Still haven't found what you're looking for? Keep in mind that you can definitely always find great toys and gifts at flea markets, resale shops, and farmers markets. Just remember to ask where the items originated to be sure that it is from America.

4. Be proud that you've not only supported America, but also protected your child / children as well.

Tips & Warnings

• Some of these manufacturers DO have items that use parts from other countries, so be sure to check if all of the parts are from America!
