Clean Rusted Cymbols

Rusted Cymbols got you feeling off beat? Read on to learn how to keep your cymbols in tip top shape!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • extra large container
  • vinegar
  • mild soap
  • sponge or cloth
  • stainless steel cleaner/polisher
  1. Step 1

With a soft cloth, wipe away all the loose rust you can.

  2. Step 2

Next place one cymbal in a large container. Pour in enough vinegar to cover the cymbal. Repeat with other cymbal if you have two large containers.

  3. Step 3

Let this sit several hours - possibly over-night depending on how bad the rust is.

  4. Step 4

Again, take a sponge or soft cloth and clean the rust from the cymbal.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the last step until all the rust is removed.

  6. Step 6

Next, used mild soap and water to thoroughly clean your cymbal - removing all traces of vinegar.

  7. Step 7

Dry completely - water left on your cymbal will leave mineral deposits and cause stains on them.

  8. Step 8

Last, finish up with some stainless steel cleaner/polisher for a great shine!

Tips & Warnings
  • If the vinegar is not working for you, try Citri-Surf77.
