Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Commitment
  • A plan
  1. Step 1

Think of ways to get noticed by more people. You have to devise plans to draw attention to yourself by advertising what you have to offer. If you want to be noticed for business and networking purposes, attend job fairs and other events that could benefit your career.

  2. Step 2

Be courteous, confident, and outgoing. How you present yourself is very important. You don’t want to make a bad impression. Even if you're a shy person, if you present yourself as confident, others will perceive you as such.

  3. Step 3

Learn how to network. Make business cards and pass them out to friends, family, potential employers, and even strangers. Take out an ad in your local newspaper or create a website promoting whatever it is that you do.

  4. Step 4

Go for what you want. You can’t sit back and wait for things to happen. If you want something, you have to go out and get it.

  5. Step 5

Stay dedicated and determined. It’s not always easy to put yourself out there and there will be times that you will face rejection. Don‘t give up on yourself. Make it a point to learn from your mistakes so you don’t make the same ones over again.

  6. Step 6

Volunteer or get involved with different organizations and social clubs. This is a great way to meet new people and get your name out there. This is also a good way to open doors for yourself so that future opportunities can be presented to you.

  7. Step 7

Don’t be afraid of change. You might have to go in a different direction than you initially planned but know that it can be beneficial to allow changes. You have to take chances and be open to learning and trying new things.
